After months of snow, salt, and cold temperatures, spring is the perfect time for a maintenance checkup to catch any winter-related wear before it becomes a bigger issue.
Start with a thorough undercarriage wash to remove built-up road salt, which can accelerate rust and corrosion if left in place. Check your tires for uneven wear from winter driving, and have your alignment checked if you hit any potholes during the season.
Winter is also hard on batteries, so it's worth having yours tested, along with your brakes, which see extra wear from stop-and-go driving on snow and ice. Topping off fluids and replacing a winter-worn wiper blade set rounds out a solid spring checkup.
